Covid 19 Update

16th September 2020

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

A confirmed case of Covid-19 has been identified in Scoil Mhuire Lourdes Tullow, in 3rd class Mr. Kavanagh.

As a precaution, the children in this class only are asked to self-isolate at home until further advice is issued by the HSE to the school.

A public health risk assessment will be undertaken by the HSE, and the parents/guardians of any children deemed to be close contacts of the confirmed case will be contacted and advised accordingly.

As soon as we are issued with further guidance we will inform families.

Is mise le meas,

Ms.Coen

Reminder about morning drop off

Junior- Second class:

School is open and available for these girls to enter from 8.50am-9am

Third-Sixth Class:

School is open and available for these girls to enter from 9am-9.10am

We have noticed a large number of older girls coming to school during the Junior School entry times. Please send your child in with the oldest sibling as we cannot ensure that children are being supervised from 3rd-6th if they are in too early.

Also, there is no parking or drop off outside the school. This area is for the buses only. Please park away from the school and walk to the gate.

This is for everyone’s safety as they travel to school each day.

Fishy names

We have had lots of changes to Scoil Mhuire Lourdes but one of our greatest new additions has been our fish tank with 4 resident fish….

We are inviting all children to get involved in our naming activity.  4 names will be chosen and announced at the end of the month during our online assembly at school.

Forms will be given out at school for you to fill in your favourite name. You will be asked to include your name, class, a name for a fish and a reason why it should be chosen. Put your entry form into the box beside the fish tank before Monday 28th, Sept.

We can’t wait to see all the entries and have our official naming day at the end of the month! Get the fishy thinking caps on!

We are back!

Thank you so much to every single person in our school community for making school life possible again…..

So much work went into getting our building ready for all the laughter,  chatting and fun. It has been an absolute pleasure over the past 2 days seeing each child being so full of joy.

We are very proud of you and how you have adapted to all the changes necessary so quickly. Well done to everyone. Enjoy the weekend and begin to consider what would be a good name for some fish as we have some new additions to our school family…..
