Today as part of procedural writing we wrapped Christmas presents with our friends. We took turns with each step and spoke about all the parts involved in the procedure. We are really excited for Christmas here in 2nd class.

Senior Infants have been reading the story, ‘Room on the Broom’ this fortnight. We sequenced the story by creating these “truly magnificent brooms”. Happy Halloween from all the girls in Senior Infants!

Junior infants are learning all about myself and houses in school. They read the story ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and made some houses from sticks, straw and bricks. They had lots of fun during Aistear and Music Generation.

World Book Day in Scoil Mhuire Lourdes was another huge success this year. We decorated our doors around the school, did book swaps, dressed up and enjoyed the whole world that books offer! Take a look at us below! te

5th class have started learning how to debate. Take a look at us playing some debating games around hotly contested issues such as school uniforms and going to bed early!
6th class outside Kilkenny castle visiting the grounds after watching the play The Boy with the Suitcase in Watergate Theatre. The girls really enjoyed the play. 
A big thank you to the parents association for their kind donation towards the day out.
To celebrate World Book Week Jackie Burke, a popular children’s author, visited 3rd and 4th classes. The girls very much enjoyed Jackie’s visit. They shared their enthusiasm for writing and reading with Jackie by discussing writing tips, inspirational ideas and favourite authors. We have lots of budding authors in our school!
5th class kicked World Book Week off in style by decorating our classroom door. We were inspired by the much loved series “Where’s Wally” and we had great fun creating our own individual Wally!
