Reading for fun and helping others in 6th

As the evenings get darker and Covid-19 makes all of our worlds a little bit smaller, we ask everyone to join us on a reading adventure. Whether it’s a trip to the Secret Garden or a voyage across the seas with Captain Hook, reading helps us to expand our horizons and escape from reality for a little while! 6th class are kicking off their reading journey this month by taking part in two reading programmes! The girls are reading to raise money for MS Ireland and also to boost their literacy skills in the Carlow County Library Reading Ninjas programme. We hope that you will all join us! Take a look at us with our first books! Watch this space to see how many we manage to read!

6th class: Message from Bishop Denis

To all our 6th class children and their families,

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, the day on which we celebrate the sending of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church.

Bishop Denis decided to take this opportunity to record a message for those who are still waiting to celebrate Confirmation and for those who had been confirmed before COVID19 made its presence felt. You can watch the video here https://www.facebook.com/KANDLEi/videos/549403842436869/  and it will also be available on kandle.ie.

Bishop Denis is asking you to do a number of things as you continue to get ready for your Confirmation whenever it will eventually happen;

  • Watch the Video and listen to his message;
  • Write him a letter or send him an email
  • Decorate your Front Door for Pentecost
  • Say a Prayer to the Holy Spirit
  • Go to Mass on Livestream for the Feast of Pentecost.
  • Please send your submissions to the Kandle Facebook page or tullowgns.ias@eircom.net

We are thinking and praying for you all at this time and will remember you on Sunday. We look forward to the day that we can celebrate together.

Regards,

The SML team
