We had great fun finger painting our Autumn trees and creating our hedgehogs. We used a variety of Autumnal colours and match sticks to create our hedgehogs. It was great fun!
Colour Walk in Junior Infants

We have been learning all our colours and went on a ‘Colour Walk’ around the school to locate colours in the environment. We worked in pairs and took turns using our clipboards. It was a blast!

Finger Gyms in Junior Infants
Well done to all the new Junior Infants on their successful week at school. They have been working very hard each day and are learning loads. This month we are focusing on working out our fingers in preparation for writing. We do a variety of stations with fun activities at each to include:
- Threading
- Pincer Grip with pegs
- Stenciling
- Playdoh
- Cutting
- Colouring
- Pegs

Aistear Time in Junior Infants
We love Aistear time in Junior Infants. We have a rota to ensure that each table gets a turn at each station. We have 6 play centres in total at the moment to include:
- socio-dramatic play
- sand play
- contruction
- small world play
- puzzles and games
- art and craft

Junior Infants First Day
Welcome to all the new Junior Infants and well done! The girls were very eager to get into their new class and begin exploring. They had great fun playing on the first day with lots of new toys. They read the story about Eli’s first day at school and even coloured in a picture of him!
Finger Gym workouts in Junior Infants
In order to get us ready for writing we have been putting our fingers through their paces daily during ‘Finger Gym’ time. The children participate in a variety of fine motor activities in a bid to improve their grip for when it comes to writing time! We mix the stations up and have great fun.
