Here in Scoil Mhuire Lourdes we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday, March 3rd. It is a great opportunity to promote reading and its many benefits in our school Community. The children will come to school on the day dressed as a favourite character from a book. Pupils in all classes will be engaging in World Book Day activities such as discussing favourite books, DEAR time, listening to excerpts from stories, listening to interviews with authors, taking part in World Book Day quizzes, researching authors, designing book covers and writing book reviews to name but a few. There will be spot prizes of book tokens for the best dressed on the day which can be used to purchase books at our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair 2022.
