Mr. Kavanaghs ladies have been learning about healthy lifestyles for the month of November as part of our theme of healthy eating. They investigated popular treats and foods to see just how much sugar was in each and have put together their very own podcasts with some tips and advice on staying healthy!

Come & Try Canoeing in Bagenalstown on the River Barrow for #Be Active European Week of Sport

Come & Try a Canoeing Taster Session 25th September 2021

Get a family member or friend and take to your local River Barrow for #BeActive European week of Sport 2021 with Carlow Sports Partnership.

Meeting at Bagenalstown Swimming Pool Carpark you will be kitted out with a canoe, buoyancy aid, paddle and helmet and shown how to manoeuvre your way along the scenic route of the River Barrow.

The staff of Go with the Flow will take you on your taster session while giving you some pointers on paddling your canoe.

The key points of information are:

Date: 25th September

Time:

Session 1: 10:00am on the water (arrive 15mins before).

Session 2: 11.15am on the water( arrive 15 mins before).

Car Park: Bagenalstown Swimming Pool

Meeting Point: Back of the swimming pool by the slip.

Cost: €10.00

Experience: None is needed, however, you must be comfortable on the water.

Participants: Must be over the age of 18 years.

What you will need:

  • Arrive 15 mins before your session, get your buoyancy aid
  • Wear clothes/runners you don’t mind getting wet
  • Change of clothes
  • A plastic bag if you wish to bring your phone.
  • Water
  • Rain gear and sun cream

Active School Flag in SML

Active School Flag Information - SCCNS

This year in SML Tullow, we are aiming to renew our Active Schools Flag. This flag is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a “physically educated and physically active school community”.

When? Friday 24th September- ‘Walkway Day’

Who? Children are encouraged to walk to school on September 24th (weather permitting) to get our active schools process underway.

( Ms. Eagers 3rd class, please walk to school on Thursday 23rd September instead)

What?: Every child who walks to school on this day will be entered into a raffle to win some fantastic prizes.

How to enter: All you have to do to enter the draw is walk to school on the 24th of September and send a photo/ video of yourself to:

activeschools@smltullow.ie that morning.

So…. leave the cars at home or in the carpark and let’s get walking ladies!
